Supreme Court appoints Wausau resident to lawyer investigative committee
Madison, Wisconsin - Dec. 8, 2003
The Wisconsin Supreme Court has appointed Wausau resident Arno William Haering to a three-year term on an investigative committee that is part of the lawyer regulation system.
The lawyer regulation system, administered by the Supreme Court through the Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR), includes 16 district investigative committees - comprised of lawyers and non-lawyers - located throughout the state. These committees assist the OLR in investigations of possible lawyer misconduct. Haering has been appointed to the District 16 Committee, which handles matters from a group of northcentral Wisconsin counties including Marathon.
Haering is the former executive director of the North Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, headquartered in Wausau. He served the commission for 23 years and spent nine years prior to that doing planning work in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Appleton, and St. Paul. He is a graduate of Lawrence University.
The Supreme Court is committed to diversity in the appointment of individuals to court-related boards and committees. The Court seeks to include a cross-section of lawyers and members of the general public throughout the state.
