On December 10, the Wisconsin Supreme Court participated in the Pre-Session Conference for New Legislators, an orientation program hosted by the Legislative Council. The event, a tradition for more than 30 years, provides newly elected lawmakers with insights into their roles and the functioning of state government.
All seven Supreme Court Justices were in attendance to meet with the roughly 35 new legislators who took part. The discussions highlighted the judiciary’s role in Wisconsin’s government and emphasized the importance of a healthy working relationship between the legislative and judicial branches.
The Supreme Court has been involved in this program since January 1999, reflecting its ongoing efforts to strengthen understanding and communication between state officials.
