In the Matter of the Amendment of Supreme Court Rules: (Proposed) SCR 73.04 –- Juror Confidentiality	ORDER No. 98-08

The court held a public hearing November 17, 1998, on the petition of the Wisconsin Records Management Committee seeking the adoption of rules providing for confidentiality of personal identifying information concerning persons summoned to serve and those serving as jurors in the circuit court. The court has considered the matters presented at that public hearing and in materials filed with the court in response to the notice of that public hearing. At the public conference held immediately following the hearing, the court stated that while it decided to deny the petition as filed, it would consider alternatives to address the issues of confidentiality of personal identifying information of jurors and prospective jurors the petition presented.

IT IS ORDERED that the petition is denied.
