Current news and events
September 26, 2014 - The Office of Lawyer Regulation has begun implementing some changes and is studying other changes suggested by consultants who recently undertook a detailed review of the lawyer regulation system. A copy of the consultants' report and the office's responses has been posted on the Office of Lawyer Regulation's website at www.wicourts.gov/olr.htm, under the News section.
September 25, 2014 - The case of the month project provides high school teachers with some of the necessary tools to educate their students about the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Each month, during the Supreme Court's session, a "teachable" case will be highlighted. It will be chosen from the cases the Court will hear that month. October case of the month available here.
September 24, 2014 - The Supreme Court September 29, 2014 open rules conference agenda is now available.
September 22, 2014 - The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments during October on cases that originated in three counties. The calendar and synopses of cases to be heard can be found here.
September 19, 2014 - The Wisconsin Supreme Court will sit in Waukesha County for the first time ever on Oct. 7 to hear oral argument in three cases as part of its Justice on Wheels outreach program. see full article
September 9, 2014 - The summer edition of The Third Branch, the quarterly newsletter of the Wisconsin court system, is now available.
September 2, 2014 - The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments during September on cases that originated in six counties. The calendar and synopses of cases to be heard can be found here.
August 25, 2014 - The Wisconsin Supreme Court, in cooperation with the State Bar of Wisconsin, invites high-school teachers from across the state to bring students to Madison for the award-winning Court with Class program. Since 1996, thousands of public, private and home-schooled students have benefited from this educational program, which runs from September to April each year. see full article
August 14, 2014 - The Wisconsin Supreme Court has voted to accept three new cases and has acted to deny review in a number of other cases. The case numbers, issues, and county of origin are listed. see full article
