Judge Robert J. Shannon

After almost seven years on the Portage County Branch 2 bench, Judge Robert J. Shannon retired on April 8.

Shannon was first appointed by then-Gov. Scott Walker in 2015, and elected to a six-year term in 2016. He had previously worked as a partner in a private practice. Prior to taking the bench he served on the Portage County Courthouse Security Committee.

A graduate of Marquette University Law School, Shannon did not seek re-election, and chose to retire before the end of his term on July 31. On April 5, Portage County District Atty. Louis J. Molepske, Jr., won election to the Branch 2 bench.
