Judge Anthony F. LoCoco began serving on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals on August 1, joining District II, which is headquartered in Waukesha.

Judge LoCoco was elected to the open seat in the April 7 spring election. He succeeds Judge Lisa S. Neubauer, who retired at the end of her term on July 31. Judge LoCoco will serve a six-year term ending July 31, 2032.

Before joining the court, Judge LoCoco operated Wisconsin Appellate Litigation Services LLC, a private legal practice focused on appellate litigation. Judge LoCoco previously served as chief legal counsel and director of oversight for the Institute for Reforming Government and as an associate and deputy counsel for the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty. Earlier in his career, he served two terms as a law clerk to Justice Annette Kingsland Ziegler and practiced at Foley & Lardner LLP in Milwaukee.

Judge LoCoco earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dallas in 2012 and a law degree from Harvard Law School in 2015.

District II serves Calumet, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Kenosha, Manitowoc, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington, Waukesha, and Winnebago counties.

The Court of Appeals is Wisconsin’s intermediate appellate court. Its 16 judges review decisions from the state’s circuit courts and issue a written decision in every case.
