Diane Meulemans, Waupaca County Circuit Court, Branch 3
Waupaca County will welcome a new circuit court judge following the appointment of longtime public attorney Diane Meulemans to Branch 3 of the circuit court. She fills the vacancy created by the passing of Judge Raymond S. Huber. She will complete a term ending July 31, 2027.
Meulemans has served as Waupaca County Corporation Counsel since 2014. In that role, she has provided legal representation to county elected officials and departments, represented the county in guardianship, protective placement, child welfare, termination of parental rights, and involuntary commitment cases, and served as administrator of the county child support agency. She also advises and supports the Waupaca County Board of Supervisors.
Before joining Waupaca County, Meulemans worked as assistant and later deputy corporation counsel in Marathon County and as corporation counsel in Green Lake County.
“I am humbled and honored to accept this appointment, and I am dedicated to continuing the judicial legacy of the late Honorable Raymond S. Huber,” Meulemans said. “As a judge, I will serve with compassion, integrity, impartiality, and a steadfast commitment to justice for all.”
Waupaca County Circuit Court Judges Vicki L. Clussman and Troy L. Nielsen welcomed the appointment. “We believe Attorney Meulemans will be an asset to the judiciary as she consistently demonstrates excellent preparation, insight, and knowledge of the law,” they said in a joint statement.
Meulemans lives in northwestern Waupaca County. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
