Members of the Second Judicial District Veterans Treatment Court team visited a horse farm in western Racine County June 8 to learn about a community-based program serving veterans and their families and the support it may provide.
Judge Wynne Laufenberg and other team members toured Veterans Equine Alliance, a nonprofit organization that provides equine-based services to veterans and their families. The visit gave the team a closer look at resources that may support veterans as they address challenges related to their health and well-being.
Veterans Equine Alliance offers a non-riding program in which participants spend time with horses through activities such as grooming, walking, and quiet interaction. The program is based on the belief that being near horses can provide veterans with a calming and supportive environment.
