140 new attorneys were admitted to practice law in Wisconsin during two swearing-in ceremonies held May 28 in the Assembly Chambers at the Wisconsin State Capitol.
Chief Justice Jill J. Karofsky presided over both ceremonies, which included University of Wisconsin Law School graduates and their guests.
Director of the Board of Bar Examiners Jacquelynn Rothstein certified the applicants’ character and fitness before Jini Jasti, associate dean of the University of Wisconsin Law School, moved for their admission to the bar.
Justice Janet Protasiewicz administered the Attorney’s Oath during the 9 a.m. ceremony, and Justice Susan Crawford administered the oath during the 11 a.m. ceremony. Justice Rebecca Frank Dallet also shared remarks with the new attorneys and their guests.
Chief Justice Karofsky closed the ceremonies by congratulating the new attorneys as they entered the legal profession and joined the State Bar of Wisconsin.
