Judge George S. Curry

Former Grant County Circuit Court Judge George S. Curry passed away on December 4, 2021 at the age of 74.

Curry received his B.S. in Economics from Luther College, and his law degree from UW Law School. While in law school, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve. In 1990, he was appointed to the Grant County Circuit Court, where he served until 2009. During that time he served on PPAC, belonged to the Wisconsin Trial Judges Association and served as the chair of the Judicial Conduct Advisory Committee.

Curry is survived by his wife, Linda, four children, and his grandchildren.


Judge Keith A. Mehn, Kewaunee County

Judge Keith A. Mehn

Kewaunee County Circuit Court Judge Keith A. Mehn passed away on December 25, 2021. He was 62.

Mehn was a graduate of UW Law School and UW-Oshkosh, where he received a Bachelor of Administration degree. After receiving his law degree he worked in private practice. He served as a city attorney for Kewaunee and as a Kewaunee County Circuit Court commissioner before he was elected Kewaunee County Circuit Court judge in 2016.

Mehn is survived by his wife, Michelle, two children and one grandchild.


Judge Dennis G. Montabon, La Crosse County

Judge Dennis G. Montabon

Former La Crosse County Circuit Court Judge Dennis G. Montabon passed away on March 10 at the age of 78.

Montabon was appointed to the La Crosse County Circuit Court Branch 3 bench in 1978, and was elected five times before he retired in 2006. While on the bench, he served as a deputy chief judge for District Seven, presiding judge for La Crosse County, and director of the Wisconsin Trial Judges Association, and as a member of the Sentencing Strategies Committee, Legislative Committee of the Judicial Conference, and the La Crosse County Criminal Justice Management Council.

Montabon received his bachelor’s degree from UW-Madison and law degree from John Marshall School of Law. Prior to taking the bench he served as a Lincoln County district attorney and a senior inspector for the U.S. Bureau for Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

He is survived by his wife, Julie, three children and four grandchildren.


Judge Robert W. Wing, Pierce County

Judge Robert W. Wing

Former Pierce County Circuit Court Judge Robert W. Wing passed away at the age of 74 on November 29, 2021.

Wing received his bachelor’s degree from UW-Madison. He served two years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War, before receiving his law degree from UW Law School. He served as Pierce County district attorney before being appointed to the Pierce County Circuit Court in 1985. He was elected to the bench four times before his retirement in 2010.

Wing is survived by his two daughters, two grandchildren, and partner Debi Hasdorff.
