District 7 clerks meet in Juneau County to share practices and address key issues

Clerks of court from Wisconsin’s Seventh Judicial Administrative District met March 18 at the Juneau County Courthouse to discuss collective challenges and compare how work is handled across counties.

The meeting centered on practical topics, including preparation of annual jury reports, filing procedures, and approaches to working with county boards on budget-related matters. Clerks also discussed common operational issues and how different counties are addressing them.

Juneau County Presiding Judge Paul Curran welcomed the group and led introductions. Later in the day, clerks observed an afternoon bond hearing and discussed hearing logistics, noting that the overall process remains largely consistent across the district.

Participants also toured a Juneau County courtroom that was recently updated with new technology, providing an opportunity to compare equipment and courtroom setups with those in their home counties.

In addition to the clerks’ roundtable discussions, District 7 CCAP advocates Ann Oberle and Omar Ghoghawala led a session on CCAP financial training modules and gathered feedback from clerks on technical training needs. Clerks offered suggestions aimed at improving access to and consistency of training across the state.
