Two Wisconsin circuit court judges will be honored with awards at the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Annual Meeting & Conference in Lake Geneva on June 16.

Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Christopher R. Foley is the 2021 recipient of the Bench and Bar Committee’s Lifetime Jurist award. The award recognizes jurists who, during their tenure on the bench, were fair and impartial, demonstrated high ideals and personal character along with outstanding, long-term judicial service. Foley was first appointed to the circuit court in 1985, elected in 1986, and re-elected five times.

Judge James C. Babler

Barron County Circuit Court Judge James C. Babler is recipient of the committee’s Judge of the Year award. The award recognizes an outstanding circuit court judge who has improved the judicial system during the past year through leadership in advancing the quality of justice, judicial education, or innovative programs. Babler was first appointed in 2003, elected in 2004, and re-elected three times.
