Morgan Young has been named Legal Counsel and Executive Assistant to Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Jill J. Karofsky. In the role, Young is responsible for advising the Chief Justice on legal, administrative, and policy matters.
Prior to the appointment, Young served as Director of the Office of Judicial Education within the Director of State Courts Office. In that position, she oversaw training and professional development for judges and court commissioners across Wisconsin, working with judicial faculty and staff to deliver education aligned with changing legal standards and practices.
Before joining the court system, Young worked in legal services and policy roles focused on victim advocacy. She began her legal career representing victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in family courts across northwest Wisconsin. She later served as the Immigration and Poverty Attorney at End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin, providing legal guidance to advocates and attorneys on immigration matters, public benefits, and civil remedies for survivors of abuse.
Young also held a position as Victim Services Training Officer at the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Office of Crime Victim Services, where she developed training programs related to trauma-informed practices and cross-agency coordination.
She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School and currently teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin Law School.
