The Wisconsin State Law Library has released its 2025 Annual Report, outlining the library’s continued work to connect judges, court staff, attorneys, and members of the public with legal information and research support across the state.

In 2025, library staff answered 13,350 reference questions from judges, court staff, attorneys, and members of the public. Questions covered a wide range of topics, including family law, landlord-tenant matters, court procedure, and case law research.

Online access to legal resources remained a key part of the library’s work. The library’s website recorded nearly one million page views during the year, while thousands of users accessed research databases and other digital resources through the library’s online systems.

The report also reflects the ongoing importance of in-person services. More than 32,000 visitors used the library’s locations in Madison, Milwaukee, and Dane County, where patrons can access legal materials, obtain court forms, and receive research assistance from library staff.

Outreach and education continued to be a priority. Library staff hosted webinars, published a monthly research newsletter, and partnered with organizations across the legal community to share research tools and training opportunities. Staff also shared information at conferences and educational programs, including the Wisconsin Judicial Council and events for law students at the University of Wisconsin and Marquette University.
