Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Anthony Milisauskas has announced that he will retire from the bench effective January 6, 2026. In a letter to Gov. Tony Evers, Judge Milisauskas shared that he looks forward to spending time with his wife and five children and enjoying the many lakes Wisconsin has to offer.
Judge Milisauskas was first elected to the Kenosha County Circuit Court in 2005 and has served in Branch 4 since that time. Before joining the bench, he worked as a circuit court commissioner and practiced law in Kenosha. His background in both roles provided a foundation for his approach to judging and his reputation for fairness and attentiveness in the courtroom.
During his judicial career, Judge Milisauskas presided over a wide range of criminal, civil, and family cases. He played a key role in launching Kenosha County’s drug court in 2009, a program that provides treatment and supervision alternatives for nonviolent offenders with substance use disorders. Colleagues and attorneys have described him as a thoughtful and even-tempered judge who is committed to ensuring that everyone who appears in court is treated with respect.
His retirement will create a vacancy in Branch 4 of the Kenosha County Circuit Court. The governor’s office has opened the application process to fill the position.
Judge Milisauskas plans to remain active in the community following his retirement and to spend more time with family and friends. His departure marks the close of a long and dedicated career in public service to the people of Kenosha County.
