Judicial offices on the April 7, 2026, Spring Election ballot include one seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, three seats on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, and multiple circuit court judgeships across the state. The new terms of office will take effect August 1, 2026.

Wisconsin Supreme Court

One seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court will be on the ballot, following the announcement that Justice Rebecca Grassl Bradley will not seek re-election. As of the Wisconsin Elections Commission’s December 12, 2025, candidate tracking report, two candidates have filed to run for the office: judges Chris Taylor and Maria S. Lazar. If more than two candidates qualify for ballot access, a primary election will be held on February 17, 2026. The winner of the April election will serve a ten-year term.

Court of Appeals

Voters will also select judges to serve six-year terms on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals in the following districts:

  • District I: Judge Joe Donald (inc.)
  • District II: Anthony Francis LoCoco and Christine L. Hansen
  • District IV: Judge Rachel A. Graham (inc.)

Candidate filings are based on information available from the Wisconsin Elections Commission as of December 18, 2025.

Circuit Court

Circuit court judgeships will be on the ballot in counties across Wisconsin. Each elected circuit court judge will serve a six-year term beginning August 1, 2026. Several incumbents have filed notifications of noncandidacy, indicating they will not seek re-election. As of December 12, 2025, those judges include:

  • Mitchell J. Metropulos, Outagamie County Circuit Court, Branch 3
  • LaMont K. Jacobson, Marathon County Circuit Court, Branch 3
  • Brian A. Pfitzinger, Dodge County Circuit Court, Branch 1
  • Thomas J. McAdams, Milwaukee County Circuit Court, Branch 7
